Sharon Millar  - Paracise™

Sharon Millar has been an exercise to music instructor for over 20 years and is thrilled to be able to introduce Paracise™ to Hever. 

Lack of fitness, age, injury, physical and mental illness can affect our wellbeing but staying fit and positive can help us ease those symptoms. Paracise™  is a gentle but effective exercise to music class focusing on improving posture, balance, flexibility and mobility.

All classes are 45 minutes of standing exercise (no floor work) to fabulous music. Come along to appreciate what your body can do and how small changes can make big improvements to your daily life.

New clients get their first session free of charge.

Rose Carnegie - Pilates for Riders

Rose grew up around horses and started Eventing aged 13. The pinnacle of her Eventing career was in 2015 when she completed Badminton Horse Trials whilst completing her final exams to qualify as an Osteopath.

 

Whilst schooling a young horse cross country Rose got bucked off which resulted in a broken leg and ankle. During her rehab Rose discovered Pilates and has been a firm believer of the positive effects it can have ever since. Her 'Pilates for Riders' classes focus on what Rose believes to be key to better performance and reduced rider injury. This will include help with balance, coordination, strength and core stability.

Jennifer Russell  - Pilates 

Jenny qualified as a physiotherapist in 1978 and has worked in the field of rehabilitation since then. She trained as a Polestar Pilates Instructor in 2005 and as a Franklin Method Level 1 teacher in 2011. She then completed mindfulness training in 2016 and is a Biodynamic Cranio Sacral therapist.

 

Jenny's Classes are suitable for anyone interested in becoming more familiar with their whole body and mind, a mix of movement, stretching, concentration and breath. 

 

As a minimum requirement Jenny would need to speak to anyone wishing to join a class, ideally she would have a private session with you for an hour to understand your individual needs. 

Jenny is also available for 1:1 Pilates sessions on the reformer.

Lizi Dent - Yoga

 

 

Lizi’s diverse background includes gymnastics, pilates & circus arts, she has hung up her trapeze to share her enthusiasm for yoga which has supported her body and mind for more than 15 years.

 

Her passion for yoga is infectious, working at all levels she draws on her affinity to nature to breathe a refreshing feel into each class which is carefully choreographed to gently give strength.

 

Her classes are taught with a lighthearted and joyful spirit, everyone is welcome to come along and be inspired by moving in her beautiful space.

Lizi's classes are on a Tuesday and Thursday evening at 7pm.

Katie Brown - Yoga

Yoga can benefit everyone, whether you’re a total beginner or you’ve been practicing for years, stressed and in need of some time out, or you want to complement your sports training to strengthen and release your muscles.

 

Katie’s passion for yoga intensified whilst learning to manage a chronic illness. After discovering the healing powers of Yoga she now strives to help others realise the benefits of this ancient practice in a contemporary way.

 

Katie teaches Hatha Yoga. Her classes centre around Vinyasa Flow, a dynamic practice that improves flexibility, strength, posture and balance.  Her classes are nurturing and start with a short breathing exercise (Pranayama) to calm the nervous system and prepare the body for the physical practice. With a focus on alignment and synchronising breath with movement, the sequence of postures can be as challenging as you wish. Katie has a passion for music which she uses to guide clients through each class.

 

Katie will be offering 60 minute yoga classes on Saturday mornings. This will include a gentle flow for beginners and a general all abilities class. If you're a keen golfer why not experience how yoga can benefit your game by improving your focus, mobility, balance and range of motion.

David Upson - Yoga 

David graduated as a yoga teacher in 2013 after being a student for 12 years, qualifying as a Hatha / Vinyasa yoga teacher and later becoming a Sports Yoga Coach.

David believes at some level we all know we need to stretch be it instinctive or intellectual. Just watch your cat or dog when it wakes. Yoga can be used as a tool to take that further allowing the student to become more aware of their physical and mental needs. From this develops a regular practice that can promote better balance, concentration, stamina, flexibility and mobility.

Half the students he sees come to yoga due to injury or acute muscle tightness. Looking for a different way to work and support their bodies. Classes are created with the expectation that poses will use props and intelligent modifications to benefit the student. These tools are used as much by beginners as advanced practitioners.

 

David will be offering 60 minute classes on Sunday mornings at 9:30am

Lisa Bunton - Legs, Bums and Tums

Lisa has been teaching group fitness for the last 32 years, she teaches a variety of classes and is looking forward to bringing LBT to Hever Health.

This 55min class is suitable for all, Lisa will always give you options to work at your level.
The class is aimed at those problem areas Legs, Bums and Tums these are the powerhouse muscles that will keep you strong and burn fat at the same time.

The class will start with a standing warm up followed by a short standing conditioning section which will then move to the mat, you will end with a stretch to lengthen out all of those muscles that have been worked.
